Over the Edge, and Back Again

This is the last post I’m making this trip, they have a tunnel to get me over the border, they must trust me at least or I’d be dead. Unless that’s their plan. I guess if you don’t hear from me again then I’m worm food.

I have viewed some of the files they, they aren’t letting much out, but is seems on the edge of the city is an old underground base or at least was. That’s what they are after; they claim that’s where the first time traveller appeared, they never showed me any evidence of that, so I’ll have to wait and see if they can get me any more info. I’m not helping a bunch of crackpots on a fool’s quest.

They told me to contact Blind Morton Henkin in a few weeks he should have something for me. Blind Morton, he creeps me out.

Well just about to go on the road again, ‘The Friends of David Jones’ want to meet me, not sure who he is but they claim to have files on Cromwell Jackson that could bring him down or at least seriously damage him.

Over the Edge Part 4

Last few days were interesting, moved to a new town now and staying with man going by the name of Long Thumb.  It seems he has contact with those organising the raids, though I don’t stand a chance of meeting them this trip, he can get answers.

Thumb claims that the attacks are a diversion, they are trying to get to Iolanthus Core, not much chance of that. It seems they have received some file detailing information of about experiments into time travel and that there is a link to Cromwell Jackson Syndicate and their dominance in the World Council. They are claiming the World Council has been corrupted and it impartiality lost. These are bold clams, though in the last few months we have seen a lot of votes helping Cromwell Jackson.  Until I see evidence I’m not convinced nor can I find help for them.

Over the Edge Part 3

Made it, though I’m not sure how welcome I am here. On the surface everyone seems fine but here seems to be a few people running around in the shadows. This place is strange, a mixture of shanty town and sewer. At least they have some autonomy, but the smell.

I miss Iolanthus already, I could live without the subs, them and their social culture ideals, dress codes and lifestyle rules. It makes me wonder how they survive, they must have something. I suppose the sense of community helps and having someone to cover you back is nice. I guess street gang culture could be worse at least the gangs have something at stake these days, and someone above them to put them down if needed.

I better get off now, I can feel eyes looking at me probably thinking what they could do with my Cyberwear.

Over the Edge Part 2

Well the sun has hit me, it eerily quiet here, no traffic, the hum of the city all gone. I don’t think I could get used to this.

The plan of action is to get to a town and see what ‘s happening, see if there is a reason for these raids and see if there are any arrangements we can make.

Well that was a close one, I managed to clear the border at 3 am, a burnt out bus is my home for the rest of the night. I’ll find a town or something tomorrow and dig in see what the buzz is.

The Border of Nowhere and Here

Just arrived at the Border, I hope this connection holds up long enough…

It seems the Hyper Corporations have their knickers in a twist at the moment, incursions and raids are becoming regular here, most of the stuff they take is old tech but it seems some of the runner have been getting their hands on a few NeuroSys’ and are making some way into using them and bypassing the Genetic Encryption. I guess that’s why the Recycling centres were setup, so at least your NeuroSys is deactivated. And you have to be a fool if you don’t have a kill switch attached to a brainwave and heart rate monitor.

Well I can hear gun fire, it looks like Cromwell Jackson’s Private Army are patrolling, I better get my arse out of this hole and moving. I should be over the border later, I’ll try to get access and keep you updated.
